For nearly thirty years, Parsons Dance has taken the Joyce Theater stage with energy- packed, captivating performances that display the joy found in dance. This season is no exception. From March 15 through 26, the company will make its annual Joyce appearance with two world premieres: Mr. Withers, an emotionally driven work by David Parsons, set to music by the legendary Bill Withers, and The Ride Through, choreographed by Rena Butler, set to a driving landscape created by Darryl J. Hoffman. Also on the program—live music, with composer Gincarlo De Trizio performing his propelling percussion score for the solo hit Balance of Power. Much-loved pieces from the Parsons repertory complete the program.
